The Empty Quarter - Covid-19

New Orleans is one of the major epicenters of Covid19 in the USA with the second-highest death rate per capita. Like many other cities with significant Black populations, the impact of Covid-19 has overwhelmingly affected our cities, black residents. This is not surprising given New Orleans is one of the most segregated cities with unequal access to health, housing and education. New Orleans has been my home since 2017 and the city has given me joy and creativity, love, and community. My heart is here and I like other New Orleanians miss our vibrant, festival loving Diasporic city. I take daily walks with my dog companion and these are just a few photos from our city walks during the Covid-19 #stayhome.
